Al-Maashiq Palace is a waterfront palace in Aden, Yemen, in the Crater District. It has served as the seat and residence of the chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, the executive body of the internationally recognized government.
Aden has been the de facto capital of that government since 2014. In the reported attack described in the news, Yemeni officials said missiles and drones struck the palace complex, killing five people and injuring 16. Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree described the target as a Saudi military operations headquarters; that claim was not independently verified in the report.
