Alexis Tinker-Tsavalas is a Canadian citizen living in Germany and a wildlife photographer. He won the 2026 Rising Star Award in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

His featured photograph, “Afternoon Snack,” shows a robber fly preying on a flesh fly. The photo’s description says bubbles in the victim’s eyes indicate that the robber fly has injected digestive enzymes.
