CNN, short for Cable News Network, is an American news organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded by Ted Turner and Reese Schonfeld on June 1, 1980, it began as a 24-hour cable news channel. It was the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage and the first all-news television channel in the United States.

CNN is one of three outlets—alongside MS NOW and Politico—suing the Trump administration over a White House ban on their access. The outlets are seeking to regain access after President Donald Trump barred them, saying he objected to their coverage.
