The New Yalu River Bridge is a 3-kilometer road bridge across the Yalu River, which forms part of the China–North Korea border. It links Dandong in China’s Liaoning Province with Sinuiju in North Korea. Its official name is the Korea-China Amnok River Bridge.
Construction began in 2011, and the bridge opened in October 2026 after a lengthy delay. The project was mostly complete by 2014, but work on the North Korean side remained unfinished. The bridge is intended to serve as an alternative to the nearby Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge.
The opening was presented by officials as an opportunity to improve cross-border connections and economic exchanges. It may also ease pressure on the older bridge, which carries rail and road traffic between Dandong and Sinuiju.
