The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), known in Norwegian as Flyktninghjelpen, is a humanitarian non-governmental organization. It works to protect the rights of people displaced by conflict, human rights violations, acute violence, climate change and natural disasters, including refugees and internally displaced people.

In news coverage of Gaza, NRC spokesperson Shaina Low said humanitarian assistance alone cannot meet people’s needs and that functioning markets are also needed.
