Richard Parker is a British businessman and Labour politician. He has served as strategic authority mayor of the West Midlands since May 2024, after defeating Conservative incumbent Andy Street in that year’s mayoral election.

Parker called the findings of a two-week trial of AI-powered road-safety cameras in Birmingham and Wolverhampton “shocking”. The trial identified potential seatbelt and mobile-phone offences; no enforcement was planned as a result of it.
