Ronald James Deibert is a Canadian professor of political science and the founder and director of the Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs.

He co-founded and served as a principal investigator for the OpenNet Initiative and the Information Warfare Monitor. He was also a founder and former vice-president of global policy and outreach at Psiphon.

In a Citizen Lab report on spyware risks linked to online advertising, Deibert described the findings as evidence of large-scale global espionage.
