The Team Canada trade mission to India was a weeklong visit led by International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu. The delegation included about 300 Canadian participants and visited New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to connect Canadian businesses with Indian companies and explore commercial opportunities.

According to Sidhu, the mission resulted in about 30 commercial partnerships worth $300 million. It was described as Canada’s largest trade mission to India in 30 years.

The visit took place as Canada and India pursued negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). A trade mission is a government tool for promoting exports and helping businesses explore foreign markets.
